Daily
Open all the windows fully after getting up in the morning.
Fold back the duvet.
Open all the windows fully before going to sleep in the evening.
Weekly
Remove clutter.
Empty the wastebasket.
Put away clothes.
Clean surfaces with a damp cloth.
Vacuum the floor.
Change the pillowcase.
Monthly
Change the bed linens every 2 to 4 weeks.
Vacuum window screens and/or blinds.
Yearly
Vacuum the mattress every 6 to 12 months.
Wash curtains and/or blinds.
Wash window screens.
Clean all walls and the ceiling with a damp cloth.
Thoroughly clean baseboard heaters / HVAC vents before the start of the heating season.
Good to know
Wash pillowcases, sheets, and duvet covers in hot water (at least 60°C/140°F) with laundry detergent that contains peroxide-based bleach.
Choose a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter.
Prefer natural cleaning cloths to plastic microfiber cloths.
